Adult Rehabilitative Mental Health Services (ARMHS)

ARMHS services, part of an in-home rehabilitative package through the Minnesota Department of Human Services, are available to people over the age of 18 and take place in the client’s home or community. These services are designed to help people develop skills who have been assessed to have severe and persistent mental illness (SPMI) or severe mental illness (SMI) in areas of community involvement, independent living, and achieving personal goals. Once client needs are identified, interventions including Illness Management and Recovery (IMR) are utilized as intensive skills delivery to aid in and develop the necessary supports for people to lead successful lives in conjunction with their recovery visions. ARMHS services provided by mental health professionals and practitioners take place 2-5 hours per week or as determined by the diagnostic assessment completed by a mental health professional or clinical trainee.

Children's Therapeutic Support Services (CTSS)

CTSS, part of an in-home rehabilitative package through the Minnesota Department of Human Services, may take place in the client’s home (particularly for family skills), in the community, or in the school environment and are provided for children identified to have severe emotional disturbance (SED). Rehabilitation means that services are provided to restore the child to a level of functioning that they had previously or would have achieved if normal development had not been impaired by a mental health disorder. This rehabilitation is part of service delivery including psychotherapeutic direction from a mental health professional and crisis assistance. Recreational activities may be used as an opportunity to interact with the client and create a comfortable, accepting, and fun environment to address the client’s needs. The skills sessions are designed to teach coping skills and reach treatment goals described in the diagnostic assessment and treatment plan. Sessions typically occur one or two times per week and vary in duration.
