    Hi! My name is Jessy Shouler. I have a Master of Science degree in mental health counseling from Minnesota State University Mankato, and I am licensed as a marriage and family therapist. I am local to the area and very excited to take ownership of Adult, Child & Family Services, LLC. I have extensive experience working with adults suffering from severe and persistent mental illness, mental health in a forensic setting, sexual assault, treatment and rehabilitation of perpetrators of sexual assault, and children or families of adults suffering from mental health and relational difficulties. I believe strongly in the resiliency of each individual and in the power of interpersonal relationships.


    I am an integrative therapist, utilizing many modes of therapy to deliver the most effective and individualized therapy experience for each patient. I am happy to work with children, families, and adults who present with concerns related to their mental health, relationships, trauma, sexuality, emotion management, domestic violence, life transitions, parent-child relationships, and more. I am married and have three beautiful children. I love to play and sing music, garden, and be out in nature!

    I have always enjoyed helping others. That is why being a mental health therapist and supervisor here at ACFS continues to be a good fit for me. I obtained my bachelor’s in psychology from University of Northwestern in St. Paul, MN in 2012. I went on to pursue my Master of Social Work (MSW) degree at St. Cloud State University, graduating from there in 2014. My first job out of graduate school was at a rural community mental health center working with children, families, and adults. I became a fully licensed independent clinical social worker (LICSW) in 2016. My theoretical framework is a combination of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), family systems, person-centered, strengths-based, and trauma-informed. I am also certified in trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT), an intervention used specifically for children with complex trauma. I also specialize in working with adults struggling with depression, bipolar, anxiety, trauma, or other severe and persistent mental illnesses. Outside of work I am a proud husband and father of three children. In my spare time I enjoy running, disc golf, broomball and other recreational sports.

    Hi! My name is Nicole Loher. I am a graduate of the Clinician Mental Health Counseling program at Minnesota State University Mankato, and I am currently working toward licensure as a licensed professional clinical counselor (LPCC). My bachelor’s degree is in child development and family studies from Minnesota State University Mankato, and I have several years of experience working with children of all ages in childcare centers, schools, and mental health settings.


    I work in the Mankato, MN location at Adult, Child & Family Services, LLC with families and individuals of all ages and emotional needs. My passion includes working with children, families, and adults who are suffering from mental health and behavioral challenges. As an integrative therapist, I utilize many researched-based therapy models and tailor the therapy experience to each patient. I’ve helped patients with a variety of disorders including, but not limited to, trauma, anxiety, depression, and personality disorders. I am married and have a cat and a dog. I love camping, being in nature, spending time with loved ones, listening to music, and gardening.

    Hello, my name is Erin Visker. I am a graduate of the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program at Minnesota State University Mankato, and I am currently working toward licensure as a licensed professional clinical counselor (LPCC). My bachelor’s degree is in elementary education from Minnesota State University Mankato, and I have 20 years of experience in early childhood education, including working with the Head Start community.


    I work in the Mankato, MN location part-time with families and individuals of a variety of ages and challenges. I am also currently in the process of becoming an early childhood certified mental health provider through the Minnesota Department of Human Services. I believe that there is more than one therapeutic approach in working with individuals and families but rely heavily on family systems theory and a person-centered approach to working with patients. I am married with two children. Some of my hobbies include fishing, hunting, completing jigsaw puzzles, and being in nature.

    Hi! My name is Holly Raatz. I have a Master of Science degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Capella University, Minneapolis. I am licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT). I have several years of experience working with children of all ages, which includes a work history of being a licensed in-home childcare provider, a children’s mental health case manager, and have years of experience as a licensed foster parent and adoptive parent. I also have experience working with children in schools and other mental health settings.


    I work in the Mankato and Blue Earth, MN locations. You may also see me at United South Central School in Wells, MN, providing outpatient psychotherapy services for families and individuals of all ages and emotional needs. My passion includes working with children, families, and adults who are suffering from mental health and behavioral challenges through the lens of family systems. As an integrative therapist, I utilize many researched-based therapy models and tailor the therapy experience to each patient dealing with a variety of disorders including, but not limited to trauma, anxiety, depression, and interpersonal conflicts. I am married and have eight children. We live on a small acreage and have five dogs. I love learning, reading, nature, and spending time with family and friends.

    Hi, My name is Shaleah Schmidt. I am a 2021  graduate of the Counseling and Student Personnel: Mental Health Counseling program at Minnesota State University Mankato and as of 2024 am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor.I received a bachelor’s degree in child development and family studies in 2018 from Minnesota State University Mankato and have worked in many childcare, school, and mental health settings. I started at Adult, Child & Family Services, LLC as a clinical trainee in 2020, and enjoyed the company so much that I found it beneficial for me to stay.


    I primarily enjoy working with children, adolescents, adults, couples,and families at our Mankato, MN location. I have experience in working with a variety of disorders including, but not limited to, trauma, anxiety, depression, behavior, and personality. I frequently utilize play therapy and solution-focused therapeutic techniques to help decrease presenting mental health concerns. I also love having the opportunity to run our DAT (Depression and Teens) Group to help those grades 9-12 build social skills and develop appropriate coping techniques. When I am not at ACFS, I spend my time playing piano/music, reading, being outdoors, and having quality time with close friends and family.

    Hi, my name is Taylor Ernste. I have obtained a Master of Social Work degree from Minnesota State University Mankato. I recently became a licensed generalist social worker (LGSW) and will be working toward licensure as a licensed independent clinical social worker (LICSW). 


    I have experience working with interdisciplinary teams in county, medical, and mental health settings. I primarily enjoy working with adults, geriatric, and mandated individuals although I am competent in my ability to assist all ages and backgrounds. I am passionate about building strong working relationships with each client through empathic and collaborative practice. My theoretical framework is a combination of psychodynamic therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), strengths-based, and rational emotive behavioral therapy (REBT). In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, working out, and involving myself in outside activities.

    Hi! I received my bachelor's degree in Social Work from The College of St. Scholastica, Duluth MN in 2021. I received my Master of Social Work (MSW) from Campbellsville University in Campbellsville, Kentucky. I completed my graduate internship at ACFS in August of 2022 and started as a full-time therapist in September of 2022. I am a Licensed Graduate Social Worker (LGSW) and working towards my Licensed Independent Clinical Social Work (LICSW). I work with both children and adults in Blue Earth as well as at the United South Central School in Wells, MN.  I utilize many researched-based therapy models and tailor the therapy experience to each individual patient. I’ve helped patients with a variety of disorders including, but not limited to, trauma, anxiety, depression, and personality disorders. Outside of work, I am married and a mother of three.     Hi, my name is Shayna Schreiber. I am a 2023 graduate of the Counseling and Student Personnel: Mental Health Counseling program at Minnesota State University Mankato and am working towards becoming a licensed professional clinical counselor (LPCC). I received a bachelor’s degree in psychology in 2020 from Minnesota State University, Mankato, and have worked in many childcare, group homes, and mental health settings. I primarily enjoy working with children and adolescents at our Mankato, MN location. I have experience working with behavioral issues, autism, trauma, attachment, anxiety, and depression.     Hi! My name is Ivy. I am a 2023 graduate of the Counseling and Student Personnel: Mental Health Counseling program at Minnesota State University, Mankato and I am working towards becoming a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC). I received a bachelor’s degree in Child Development and Family Studies with a minor in Psychology in 2021. I have worked in daycare, college campus, and substance treatment settings. I started at Adult, Child, & Family Services, LLC as a clinical trainee in 2022 and enjoyed the atmosphere of the environment and the ability to work with a wide range of ages, making my decision to stay after graduation easy.


     My passion includes working with children, adolescents, and young adults at our Mankato, MN location. I have worked with clients who present with a variety of concerns and disorders including, but not limited to, anxiety, depression, behavior, trauma, and life changes throughout different stages of development. I incorporate multiple modalities of counseling theory in order to meet my clients where they are at. My focus tends to lean towards CBT, solution-focused, family systems, or person centered theory. In my free time, I enjoy being outdoors, spending time with friends and family, and traveling!

    Janie completed her studies at the University of Alaska Anchorage. She has been working in the mental health and substance abuse field for more than seven years and has found this population to be where her passion lies. Janie strives to create safety and connection with her patients to ensure she is able to create the optimal space for growth and progress. She believes having fun and smiling are both essential ingredients for self-growth to occur. Janie stays busy and engaged in her free time by spending time with her three adult children and her six grandchildren as well as traveling. She identifies as a Minnesota girl, and she expresses that through her love and support of Minnesota sports teams. If Janie is nearby, you are sure to have a laugh or a smile as her energy and spunk illuminate joy and happiness.

    Hello! My name is Amber Rasmussen. I have been working at ACFS since 2020 as an ARMHS practitioner. I have previous experience as a practitioner at a different agency for 6.5 years. I am a graduate of Minneapolis Community and Technical College with a degree in human services. I continued my education at Minnesota State University, Mankato where I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Corrections and Sociology. I enjoy working with people and helping them move forward in their individual journeys. I am married with two young children and two dogs. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, camping, vacationing, being outdoors, and watching my kids grow!

    Hello! My name is Megan and I am a current graduate student in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program at Minnesota State University, Mankato. I am working towards licensure as a licensed professional clinical counselor (LPCC). I received my bachelor’s degree in Psychology from University of Wisconsin, La Crosse. Additionally, I have had several years of experience working in a variety of settings including an adolescent behavioral facility, detox center, probation department and an adult residential treatment center. I look forward to continuing my clinical training at ACFS! In my free time, I am constantly seeking out new adventures and learning opportunities. I enjoy many outdoor activities such as hiking, biking, kayaking, golfing and hammocking. I also enjoy spending time with family/friends, reading and traveling to new destinations around the world!

    Hello, my name is Georgia! I am currently working on my master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling at Minnesota State University, Mankato. I received my bachelor’s degree in psychology with a minor in sociology from Central College in Pella, Iowa in 2021. I have experience working with children in a variety of settings, most recently working as a behavior technician providing applied behavior analysis (ABA) therapy for kiddos with autism. I am excited to be with ACFS since it will help me grow personally and professionally, while also providing the opportunity to work jointly with a variety of people. I love spending my free time with friends and family, shopping, relaxing by watching a good show or movie, and traveling. A fun fact about me is I studied abroad in Wales!
